Bio:
Vesuvian came to our attention when they got in touch regards a tour they had pieced together themselves of Scotland & England. They were after some spots in the North West.
After a quick flick through their tunes and pictures you knew you had a proper band on your hands and we were only to happy too oblige.. We had a little show we were putting on at the intimate venue in Accrington, The Attic.. A hidden gem of a music location that played host to many of the industries greats.
We had put on many nights here and I thought V (as they are known to their followers) deserved the headline slot after a sound check that really got me excited. In a venue that holds around 200 and that are used to semi-acoustic sessions Vesuvian blew the funkin roof off the place.
Everyone has their best ever list of bands they've seen that blew them away.. Mine.. The Who @ Isle of Wight.. Oasis @ Wembley Stadium and in unknown terms The Black Angels @ The Ruby Lounge, Manchester & honestly this is still my number one.. Vesuvian @ The Attic, Accrington..
I mean I had heard their stuff once or twice. Maybe 3 songs. The crowd had never heard them and this place was bouncing. Everyone was up.. The guitars sounded massive. Driving every track.. One after the other.. Boom.. Boom.. Boom.. Encore..? Too rightage.. No one was leaving and when they did finish the set they were mobbed.. As much as 200 whatever the word is for people from Accrington can mob a band..
Gigs:
The band went on to become a focal point of everything we did. Performing numerous Live Online Gigs in Manchester, Liverpool, London & their native Aberdeen..
When the lads turned up you just knew they were a band.. Cool as in their jeans, tees, leather jackets, scarves & cowboy boots.. They were very much living it.. My flat was their home whenever they came south of the border and those days and the parties will be talked about for many years to come.
They optimised everything we were trying to achieve.. Bringing a much needed togetherness to a flailing music industry.. And in the process writing some absolute indie rock and roll classics.. In fact they still are.. These are 4 very very talented musicians.. Not only that they are my younger brothers and we most certainly have unfinished business.. Watch this space..
